THE KNIFE WITHOUT PAIN - AN APPROACH

This presentation is not a training. What one can gain and achieve will depend on how quickly the participant can pick what is taught. Everyone, we believe will get something worthwhile, some of course more than others. The presenters will do their best given the time constraints.

AN APPROACH TO TRANCE

At its core this methodology proposes that there is a cybernetic^[i] loop between a hypnotherapist and his client, between a hypnotist and his subject:

= Input

= Feedback

A person’s normal ontology^[ii] is a function of his normal internal sentient steps^[iii]. What they are can be secured from the data base^[iv] of the person that presents it to you.

When you secure this information, it allows you to get what you will find most useful to have. It is how to be in rapport and in sync^[v] with your client. It is for this that, before a trance induction an operator will need to know how to:

a. calibrate the person

b. adumbrate the person

c. read the person’s language.

CALIBRATION is about the micro-analog changes in the body language. This presentation will be concerned only with the eye movements as indexed below:

Exercises in Calibration.

ADUMBRATION is the reading of the internal state^[vi] of a person. In Hypnosis, the adumbration of the trance state from the beginning, through its evolution and to its conclusion is critical.

READING THE CLIENT’S LANGUAGE will allow the operator to determine what is the client’s preferred:

i. Vision

ii. Audition

iii. Kinaesthetics

iv. Gustation

v. Olfaction

The clients verbs and adjectives will clue you in to which system he prefers. Therefore, in a trance you are to reapply his predicates of choice, not yours. You do this, because in a cybernetic loop of communication, by using his terminology you will enter into linguistic rapport with him.

i. Enriched Meta Programs (EMPs)

The client’s Enriched Meta Programs (EMPs) index the semantic kernels of high significance for a person. This workshop does not have the time for us to expand in this domain.

TRANCE INDUCTIONS fall into the following categories:

i. very hypnotizable

ii. in a crisis situation.

However, for this method to be successful, the operator has to be in a congruent state and from such a state to deliver the order for the trance.

FORMAL TRANCE INDUCTIONS are very well known to Hypnotists. They include:

The Hypnotic Gambit^[xi]

INFORMAL TRANCE INDUCTION:

In this approach we can:

a. to ensure as full a hypnotic sleep of the physical body

b. to reverse a person normal sentient steps that determine his normal ontology and, therefore, his normal state.

c. to secure Non-Dominant Hemispheric Access (NDH access). You can do this just by a trance that is deep enough or by the Principle of Overlap I.

d. to sever the connections between the HOPs and the physical body.

PRINCIPLE OF OVERLAP:

Principle of Overlap I is to find a predicate or adjective in one sensory system that is shared by another and to guide the client from one system to the next.

Principle of Overlap II to find the common boundary of one semantic kernel with another semantic kernel and then guide the client from one to the next.

HOPs is an acronym for the Hierarchy of Paradigms. These are the blue prints that are imprinted into us that we use to understand the world in which we live. This, in the case of the late Ayatollah Khoemeni of Iran he utilized his variation of the Islamic Faith, i.e. Shiitism to understand the foreign policy of his nation. To the consternation of the world he called the United States, The Great Satan. On a commensurable basis, Ronald Reagan called the USSR, The Evil Empire.

^[i] Cybernetics is the field study developed by Norbert Weiner of MIT. It is the study about information flow within and between systems. From it has come such terms as input, feedback, feed forward, servo systems, cyberspace, cyborg and cybertime.

^[ii] Ontology is the study of the fabric or structure of human subjective reality. It was initiated by the ancient Greek philosophers in the sub-branch of philosophy called metaphysics. It was in time brought within the ambit of religion in which aberrations in human states or behaviour were blamed on the devils machinations, the sinfulness of man, the temptations of the flesh. Today, the explication of deviations in human ontology is dumped on a mythic chemical balance.

^[iii] Internal sentient steps with respect to their nature were indexed by Hans Vaihinger in his seminal work, The Philosophy of As If. It was the field of Neuro-Linguistic Programming that was to delineate and expand them. This was indexed in the work Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Vol. I by co-authored by Robert Dilts, John Grinder, Richard Bandler, Leslie C. Bandler and Judith DeLozier.

^[iv] The data base refers to the entire body of sensory information that a person’s brain has acquired across his life span. It is known as the Universal Physical Records (UPR). Under the operation of the Hierarchy of Paradigms they are then converted into the Universal Logical Records (ULR).

^[v] To be in rapport and in sync with a client means that the operator will be held in regard and with credibility by the client. This is not a critical variable for a stage hypnotists and the people who volunteer on the stage to be his subjects. They are willing to submit to his operations and he has the advantage to select his subjects. They are inevitably those who are easily hypnotizable.

^[vi] Internal state is any ongoing physiology. It may be sane or insane, well-formed or ill-formed, congruent or incongruent and meaningful or irrational.

^[vii] Scanning, reading and sorting patterns are things we have to do since reality and our understanding of reality is not a given, We normally do so unconsciously. In doing so we determine the form and nature of our reality.

^[viii] Semantic kernel is a discreet unit that is composed of all the logical records that appertain to an item of consideration. Thus. if the item of consideration is “to roast a chicken” the logical records will include place of purchase of the chicken, cost of purchase, the preparation of the chicken, the herbs that are to be used, who is to do the basting and when, the setting of the temperature of the oven and so forth.

^[ix] Authoritarian as an approach in this PC era is not something that is regarded as a kosher thing. However, in a given context, it may be the best of approaches to use.

^[x] Formal inductions are defined as those whose verbigerations are standardized.

^[xi] The CIA or Chong Induction Algorithm is a protocol that we have created that we believe has a consistent universal application. It has this feature and attribute to it because its utterances are fulling consonant and in concordance with the deep natural instincts and intuitions in a person. We release for the registrants of this workshop as a gift.
